In Michigan it got banned, despite having cities llike Detroit and Flint.

That is very telling to me. But of course with everything it will be difficult to have a true balance between discrimination against blacks and discrimination against whites. The only way to completely get rid of it is for everyone to quit making an issue out of a fleshtone.

I would really love to talk with you to gain a better understanding of your question. I am a black female so perhaps I don't have knowledge of this kind of discrimination, but I would love to know how white men are discriminated in the work place. Please educate me. And personally, I believe that any law that will keep man from returning us into the depths and degradation of slavery, self-loathment and debasement is necessary, The laws are not just for the minority - yes, it might be true it was needed so that equality could be justified, but the laws that are good and intended to maintain freedom and civil rights for ALL men need and must stay in place. Otherwise, along comes some politician who believes that we don't need it - and does away with it - and we are forced back into a dark world. Do you see what the loss of prayer in schools did over time???? I have.

Affirmative Action is supposed to be a non discriminatory policy. Therefore, how can it then be discriminatory towards whites? To say, should we review it is one thing, but to ban it is another. Below is Lyndon B. Johnson's order

Lyndon B Johnson 11246

"During the performance of this contract, the contractor agrees as follows:

"(1) The contractor will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The contractor will take AFFIRMATIVE ACTION to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Such action shall include, but not be limited to the following: employment, upgrading, demotion, or transfer; recruitment or recruitment advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship. The contractor agrees to post in conspicuous places, available to employees and applicants for employment, notices to be provided by the contracting officer setting forth the provisions of this nondiscrimination clause."

America has a long history of institutional White supremacism, going back 400 years, that pervades every aspect of our country - the government, education, business, housing ect.

And ALL White people benefit from it - even the poorest Whites.

Poor Whites are far less likely to be arrested than poor Blacks or Latinos, even though the White poor commit just as much crime as the minority poor (or more if you include crank/crystal meth/methamphetamine related crimes - the White poor have a monopoly on that!)

I am white and feel we still need it. I don't even like it, and at times I think it should be ended. But then I go to the Yahoo boards and see how ofter the word "******" is used and I want to puke. Racism is alive and well. Affirmative Action should stay for at least one more generation (20 years). That's my opinion.
