Why are you only asking about Polish people? I know plenty of Irish, Italian, German (etc...) people who leave their decorations up.

The answer, if you actually want it, is that people are either busy or lazy. If instead you just want to take a swipe at Polish people, get a life.

First of all they don't keep them until Valentine's Day.

Secondly the majority of decorations are removed after the Festive of Three Kings.

Thirdly , many British people put up the lights and other decorations two months before Xmas so it works both ways.

To sum up, this question of yours is strange.

This thread is a great example of today, an honest question gets attacked by people whom act like they have some kind of right too judge everyone. I live in Detroit, Michigan USA, a city called Hamtramck is inside of Detroit.. Our area is like little Poland, it has an intense Polish history and many old churches and yes they keep their trees up a long, long time and take them down on biblical days in February. This was an amazing revelation too me over ten years ago when first going into a polish church at this time. Sweetest Heart of Mary to be exact. They fill their church with hundreds of christmas trees. I was so happy too see Christmas living on... Here in the US they force feed us now the commercial christmas exprience starting in late October. Then three days after Christmas a CRASH!!!!! Trees are out in the street in the garbage everywhere with tons of waste. That is commercial capitalism. Just like these jerks on this thread whom attack someone for an honest question. What did you think the fairy of political correctness was going too leave a bundle of money under your pillow for typing out against someone asking a real question.. Man i could go on and on.. this fake attitude of "doing something" try hiking a protest sign, try singing in the streets, try breaking up a fight, try saving prostitutes from being beaten in the street... I have many stories bitches.

LOL Steve, I am with the others saying it doesn't matter what one's background. My tree is up, and will prolly come down this week. I love the lights too, and still have a scale model car sitting under the tree. A special gift from a mate.
There is no rules as to when or why, but as long as I am not hurting anyone, I think I have the right to be odd.
I might add, Irish, Welsh, Scot, and good old English in my lineage. Prolly some German as well, considering the overall mixing in my English heritage.

Guilty. At least some times.
I guess for 2 reasons: one, I really enjoy the lights and ornaments, and the aura it gives the home. Two, I am probably a bit of a procrastinator, and a bit lazy when it comes to taking it all down, wrapping the ornaments, packing it all back outside to the storage.
I don't leave it all up until February though. I only did that once, and it was March. But, I came home from working the graveyard shift to find that my best friend took it all down for me. It was a nice surprise, I must say. It was a loooooong, looooong, time ago.
Good question. Brought back a fond memory. I wish I knew where that friend was now. I've tried to locate her on the Internet, but to no avail.

It relies upon who you're speaking about. maximum individuals that've immigrated to usa are used to their living house traditions that were extra non secular (enable's settle for it there is not a lot non secular perception in usa) they save their decorations up for a at the same time as after Christmas. notwithstanding because of all the shops and commercials, human beings were listening and seeing all issues Christmas on account that Thanksgiving. human beings get drained and aggravated. In usa Christmas is about provides truly of Jesus Christ. yet if you're non secular then save the custom and save the decorations on until eventually you want :) My kinfolk keeps the indoor decorations on for even longer :)

I didn't know they did. I'll have to ask my polish friends. But you would think you'd get tired of looking at it for that long and ya, they would get dusty too!
