Men like long hair it shows that you care about your appearance. I would admire the late 60's girl with platinum hair for trying. Don't give up you are only 38!

Anj, I think there are several factors to consider.
1. condition of hair, is it thick and lusterous, or thin and skanky
2. does it fit the shape of the face, some long hair drags face down, aging the woman alot.
3. at certain ages lighter hair can wash out a womans features, the darkening can also harden, so you have to find happpy medium in the color range.
4. Versatility of hair length can give you the option to wear hair up, down, with clips, combs, hair pieces, etc.
I have seen some women from the back that were small built hair that hung to their waist, then when they turned around, the woman was pushing 60-70...ikes, who knows, it is just what you are happy with!

That is up to the person but I like short hair if it is neat. Not long and not so short she looks like a man in the back.
Like Marylin Monroe, she was one fantastic looking lady and she wasn't skinny either. A bunch of us guys was talking in college and we all agreed she was the best of all time. Women want bone skinny and it is ugly. I like breasts and they don't have any.
There is this girl she is 5'4" complains that she is to fat. She weighs 140 and she is always on a diet. We know her weight because she tells it all the time. She has the most fantastic body of any woman I have ever seen. The guys drool when she walks by. Saw her working out in the gym in black leotards
Raised my blood pressure so high i thought I was going to faint.
Talk about a hard body and a cute butt. Has shoulder length hair.
But nobody looks at her hair.

i'm 28 and function some that are grayish. not something important, not that i might care, yet they are there. My step father says his hair exchange into thoroughly white/gray by utilising the time he exchange into in his mid Nineteen Twenties or early Thirties. As to what age people regularly initiate getting white hair, properly, it relies upon on their genetics. some people could have dark hair into their 50s or 60s or maybe later. some people have their hair initiate turning before they are even 20. i don't think of there is any "established" age for it to ensue even with the undeniable fact that it form of feels the familiar public of people initiate noticing it whilst they are of their 40s or so.

I don't think it is about age!! But more how good you look for your age!! Also depends on other factors such as the shape of your face, condition of hair, and you facial features. Obviously the general rule is that women should get their hair cut shorter when they age, but I know of older women who ahve long hair and if they were to have it cut shorter it would make them look older!! Maybe you should talk to a hairddresser and friends and family and ask them whether they think you will look better with longer or shorter hair!!

I too am 38 w/long hair and I don't plan on ever cutting it short. Why should we cut it when we "hit" a certain age? I plan on getting old w/my grey/white LONG hair LOL. If it starts to fall out then maybe i'll cut it and wear a long haired wig! With clips and "buns" there's ways to put it up if you are tired of it down.

I think a woman in her 70's with long gray hair looks beautiful...granted she keeps it healthy and gets regular trims. I can't stand the fact that once a woman hits late 40's/early 50's they decide to get a boy's haircut. It's so unfeminine. I have a friend who is 53 who has golden blonde highlights and long hair and everyone tells her never to change it because it looks so good on her. As long as you like it, keep it long!

My folks and brother would harass me about my long hair (at 35)siting I was "too old" yet my hair were healthy and full, and my guy loved it, so what difference does it make as long as its clean?
When your hair goes limp and unmanageable and you can't handle it anymore then cut back the locks.. but personally I don't want to have the 'standard old ladies wave/perm' until I am at least 90!

It's lovely to be able to have long tresses that can be crimped ringleted or styled and clipped in so many ways.
However if you find that it's nearly always in a ponytail - that's a waste. It may as well be short.
Short hair looks so sophisticated at any age

As long as you moisturize and take care of your skin, hair length is not an issue...don't let the granny hippie scare you. If anything cut some Jessica Simpson lookin layers into your hair to give it some boingyness and playfulness to it.....I mean, look at Aniston, she's 38ish and her hair is adorable!
