Because, unfortunately, none gives a ****...
The reason?
- No economical or strategic interest there.

Black Africans are considered subhumans by American governments. The political environment there is exceedingly complex, with different tribes, different religions, and ethnic struggles going on all the time.
The present problem is the arabs trying to wrest control from the black africans in the area. Mix in the ever-present christian vs. muslim struggles, and the tribal affiliations, the AIDS epidemic, and the sheer hugeness of Darfur and you can see why few want to tackle the problem.
Oh and there's not enough oil, gold or diamonds for the white people to take interest in.

Action is expensive!!! A real soultion might invoiolve conflict and there is much to lose for those participating
- lives
- money
- much critism
Nobody realy cares aabout Darfur enough. You look at US black community for example. They were mad about South Africa; they were front and center seeking justice. Murders in Rwanda ans Sudan? they are silent cos their leaders and stars dont care. they'd rather talk about the krsamer guy.
So far other than Colin Powel, most of the noise about the issue i've heard has come from white liberals and very few of them. If the American black communuity got angry about ther issue vocally a difference could be made.
All americans were pissed of at the handling of new orleans but blacks being neglected had the presense of mind to mobilize their collective voice about it. Arsinio Hall and Al ASharpton would rather forgive someone for using the n word. shame on them
\
For the record i care about the issue but even the red cross is pretty silent about it
(i'll get alot of negative answers for this but its true. prove me wrong by actually complaning in your community and making a noise about it. IF MALCOM X WERE ALIVE AMBYE HE'D MAKE NOISE but I could be wrong.)

There are numerous reasons: No economic interest (as pointed out before), a civil war is being fought there, and nobody (maybe rightfully so) wants to spend billions of dollars on something that will not work. Who would want to help someone who is unwilling to help themselves?

No oil there, nothing to gain. Just like in New Orleans our government could care less about a bunch of black people. Shame on them for not doing more to help.

I keep hearing people asking "why isn't anything being done"? But they never say what should be done. I suppose that's because there's nothing that can be done, but it makes them feel better to complain about it.
