I'm actually looking for a plan or something similiar. I am familiar with all the tools, equipment, etc.

Stores & shopes that specialize in wood burning stoves sell them and have catalogs showing several choices in colors, sizes etc. I have always found them more thorough than the big box stores and the help is better trained.
The instructons that came with the wood burning stove should show you the proper placement of a pad (distance from side walls, back wall, etc) If your floor is non-combustible (like concrete,brick) you wont need one. If it is a wood floor, tile, carpeted etc you need to build one from non-combustible materials.

Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

You can get ceramic tile from most any hardware store or flooring place.
You can also use bricks.
