Normally persuasive essays are about five- Introduction, three body paragraphs and a conclusion.

However, as long as you explain your point, they can be any amount of body paragraphs. Just remember the intro and conclusion.

I usually don't think of it in terms of how many paragraphs the essay should be, instead I just keep writing until I know I have written all the information I know on the subject. However, you should have at least one paragraph for each topic or point, and an introduction and some form of conclusion. But while you are writing, just focus on getting your point across, not on how many more paragraphs you have to go.

Your teacher, or teachers may have already said this a time or two. The number of paragraphs needed is wahtever it takes to make your point. In an essay, you would generally have an introduction, or statement of purpose. This is followed by a proof or validation of your theme. After that, you make a conclusion. In a persuasive essay, you want to propose or state what you are attmepting to say, give reasons for your point of view and wrap it up.

Long enough to ensure that you are able to have one for each argument your present and 1 for each the introduction and the conclusion. Generally in high school the teacher expects at least 5 paragraphs where there is 1 introductory paragraph, 1 conclusion and 3 body paragraphs (so you need to have at least 3 arguments). If you have more arguments than needed then you can always have more paragraphs...there is nothing in stone that says ow many you can have. Good luck1

My rule of thumb in my classroom is 5 paragraphs. We break it into 1st paragraph being - what are you going to tell me? Make sure to have 3 points you are going to talk about. The next 3 paragraphs are about each of the 3 points. And finally, the last paragraph is - what did you just tell me? Wrap it and make your final persuasive sentence. Good luck!
