I think looking at how gigantic the earth is and looking around into space and knowing it's neverending, dark, and cold - that would scare me. Other than that I think it would be beautiful.

Only the fortunate go in to space. It is an oppotunity to take a closer look at God's mysterious creations or to study the miracles of evolution first hand. Space travel is no different than travelling in an aeroplane except that you are cramped for space and have limitations on what you can eat or do due o the environments created in the space craft which are Ok for human living. One aspect I would be scared is the initial take off phase in which the rocket starts off with zero speed and accelerates to a very high speeds very fast. The important aspect to note is that evemn the acceleration keeps changing [and its rate of change is known as jerk] is likely to affect your body structure under adverse conditions.

The tremendous power and speed of the rocket and my total lack of control over it if something goes wrong. Also, the vacuum of space, should there be a leak in the cabin or in my space suit. But I would brave it all to see that fantastic view with my own eyes.

The fear is from not being able to anchor our position with other surrounding objects, much like the fear of falling, or jumping into a pool from a high diving board, where we can temporarily lose control of our orientation.

I would eventually learn to enjoy it, but not knowing which way is up would be a little spooky, as we are currently grounded on earth with its gravity to give us that reference.

Going into space would be fine, heck travelling to Mars would be great, but landing on Mars and finding out Telemarketers have beaten us there would be horrifying.

I'm a pilot. I don't get scared. Occasionally I get concerned, but never scared. However, trusting the equpimnet and your crew is important.
