I seem lost on the current reason.

So why are we there again?

Serious replies are appreciated from both sides of the party line!

Thanks

Excellent question. I thought is was WMD. Then it was to liberate the Iraqi people from their evil dictator. Now I can only guess thatt someone is making a lot of money off of us being there (haliburton, oil companies, oil rich countries, weapons manufacturers, politicians who campaign on fear of terrorist threat, etc) or that we are taking another stab at nation building...

Now I have a question for you: What does "never forget" mean again? They said it after WWII and after Vietnam...perhaps they should have said "never remember"!

1. Saddam Husein was viewed as a threat and had invaded other places. He was seen as threat to US interests; i.e, stability of a region critical in providing oil to usa
2. He had tried to get nukes b4. Nobody wants unstable or aggressive countries w nuclear weapons
3. 9/11 provided excuse to get rid of a pain in us foreign policy makers rear.
4. saddam was indeed ruthless murderer but he was that wen he was us ally too

There is no war on terror in Iraq: it's a war for petrol and domination of the Middle-East, which is now lost for good...

"War on terror" is a nonsense. War, imperialism, oppression and exploitation generate terror (action/reaction principle).

Don't let them brainwash you!
