Containing more than sixty percent of the world's human population and covering 8.6% of Earth's surface, Asia is not only the most populated continent but, also, Earth's largest continent. The continent of Asia is broken down into six different sub-regions. Central Asia, Eastern Asia, Northern Asia, Southeastern Asia, Southern Asia and Western Asia, placed together, make up the continent of Asia, as we know it. Central Asia consists of the countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan while Eastern Asia consists of the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea and the Republic of China (Taiwan). Russia makes up Northern Asia and Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste (East Timor) and Vietnam are all a part of Southeastern Asia. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are a part of Southern Asia and Western Asia is compiled of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Gaza, Georgia, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Naxcivan, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, West Bank and Yemen.

Eurasia.
Asia and Europe are basically the same continents. Some new atlas and books, including the ones in the classes of my kids, define Asia and Europe as Eurasia. I agree with this statement because the division between Europe and Asia is the Ural Mountains. Even in political terms this sounds logic because Russia is the biggest country of Eurasia. If you use this logic why not consider India as a continent because this big country is separated from Asia by the Himalayan Mountains.

Asia is the largest and most populous continent or region, depending on the definition. It covers 8.6% of the Earth's total surface area, or 29.4% of its land area, and it contains more than 60% of the world's human population.
Asia is traditionally defined as part of the landmass of Africa-Eurasia – with the western portion of the latter occupied by Europe – lying east of the Suez Canal, east of the Ural Mountains, and south of the Caucasus Mountains and the Caspian and Black Seas.
