Mizzou is a nickname for the University of Missouri, but they have to fit it in the scoreboard so it's Mizz.

Mizz is pronounced that way so people will not get confused when they are watching a game cause if you put the first 4 letters of Missouri on the scoreboard it would be Miss. and that really is the abb. for Mississippi.
