Can someone help me with unlocking the gnome code in sims pets 2 (ps2)?

Question

I have tryed EVERYTHING it seems like! I just got the game yesterday, and It is a great game and all but I cannot get any of the cheats to work. Expecally the gnome one. I have tryed buying the shifty sam gnome, putting in the code around him, (at the end it only pulls up how my character is doing because of the d pad up button) I tryed putting it in game opions but it wont happen!

This is the code I use:The Cheat Gnome (enter during gameplay)
Cheat code: L1, L1, R1, X, X, D-pad Up.

While AT HOME or ON A LOT, press L1(2), R1, X(2), Up. -From: Raves Tequila

10,000 additional Simoleons
Enable the "Cheat Gnome" code, then press Up, Left, Down, Right, R1 while playing the game. An option to advance time by six hours will now appear on the Cheat Gnome. Select the Cheat Gnome, then cancel the selection. Press Up, Left, Down, Right, R1 again. A "Give Sim Simoleons" option should now appear.

Pet Points
Enable the "Cheat Gnome" code, then press Triangle, Circle, X, Square, L1, R1 while playing the game. A "Pet Points" option will now appear on the Cheat Gnome.

Pet Emporium fully upgraded
Enable the "Cheat Gnome" code, then press Right, Down, Right, Up, Right, Down, Right, Up while playing the game.

Advance time by 6 hours
Enable the "Cheat Gnome" code, then press Up, Left, Down, Right, R1 while playing the game. An option to advance time by six hours will now appear on the Cheat Gnome.
