Have set up router to share broadband connection with my partners desktop....I skipped the wpa set-up...intending to set up after installation...but...the ip address given (192.166.2.1) will not connect...Help.......

You have the wrong ip address.
It should be 192.168.2,1

did you reboot the network after configuring the router? if not reboot the modem first, then router and finally the PC's or laptops, etc...

then go to Start > Run > type in cmd
then type ipconfig /all
all fields should contain data coming from the DHCP server in the router
try to ping the default gateway, if successful you should be able to access the Internet
