They have one already, or perhaps it is more to say they have had one on and off for some time. I met its founder and leader long ago and remember him for his Tudor hat (which he explained was unisex, as his wife wore one too) and for his rather original map of where the oil in the North Sea should be distributed, which gave a generous share to England at the expense of Scotland. The English National Party (ENP) was founded as the John Hampden New Freedom Party in the 1960s by Frank Hansford-Miller. In 1974, it renamed itself the "English Nationalist Party". It achieved its greatest notability in April 1976 when it was joined by the Member of Parliament John Stonehouse, who had formerly represented the Labour Party and at the time was on remand for fraud. However, Stonehouse was convicted and left Parliament in August of that year, and the party did not stand a candidate in the subsequent by-election. The party was active until at least 1979, when it stood a candidate in the 1979 general election, but was defunct by 1981, when Hansford-Miller stood for the "Abolition of Rates Coalition". Hansford-Miller later settled in Australia.
The party's best known policy was advocating an English Parliament. Other policies included calling for the abolition of income tax.
Another party is currently registered under the name "English National Party", with leader Robert Williams and other officer Michael Blundell. (Currently the South West Area Chairman of the English Democrats) It is based in Bristol and notes it has a membership of "under 100" and has annual income of less than £100.

I think that us English should have our own parliament, so we can decide what happens here instead of how it now is where English MP's are not allowed to vote on Welsh issues in the Welsh Assembly, or the Scottish Parliament, while both the Scottish MP's & the Welsh MP's are in English issues that do not affect their countries! If you are looking at if the English should have a party, our Liberal Party is an original Party from before the Union of England & Scotland 300 years ago.

It is a great question - and I'd say that the answer is no .
We'd be better off with political parties representing all the counties.
The danger is that if a party representing only the English wins power, we can kiss equal entitlement to benefits, good jobs, health and education good bye. Majoritarian democracies are vicious against their minorities. The better ones are the ones who look after everybody in the country.

it might be a good start if people could decide logically and rationally what they do want .someone yesterday even wanted London as an independent state Personally i think splitting up only makes us weaker and that the more countries that can stick together The better for us all
in the climate of bullying weak countries that's now prevalent Who knows when it will come down to " your with us or against us " where we are concerned
Any one who thinks that's nonsense should be aware that we already had a taste of that attitude
USA didn`t only fund terrorism against England by the IRA (the sly way they cause trouble all over the world )they have also threatened us in the not so distant past about the consequences of not getting out of Ireland
we need to do anything we can to protect our selves from the worlds police

unusual solutions from BNP, the question asked approximately political representation for England, extremely England! Why are the BNP putting an oar in, are they now asserting they don't want to symbolize Britain, yet basically England?? If i exchange into English i might decide to proceed to be in the european, England will quickly be all by utilising itself, eire would be a united eire returned, Scotland would be freed from you, and Wales will quickly follow in good shape. you're particularly welcome to the BNP, it is going to be renamed English national occasion.

I don't think we need another political party. There's too many already.
After all what are politicians, they're only people like you and me spouting off their opinions. The only difference really is they're making money out of it. We all end up paying for their mess-ups one way or another.
The SNP and Plaed Cymru are hardly big voices in their countries or at least not big enough to make any difference.

There are more than enough brain dead M.Ps in the (Hog Pen) without adding more. What we should be doing is culling them until we find a few that have brain cells, whether they be English or not. They are all determined to wreck this Nation of ours through greed and political correctness. So emigrate and start again.

I completely agree with you ,you will be advised not to utter the phrase "English party" too loudly, because in our "great and free "country; you run the risk of being branded a rascist

I would go slightly further....I think we English people need our own country.
To quote Flanders and Swann..."The English, the English, the English are best, I couldn't give tuppence for all of the rest."
