Memory sticks are like floppy disks in that they are used to transfer data between computers, although they are much larger and faster. However, relatively speaking, memory sticks are not very fast compared to an internal memory card because they use USB. I don't know how much faster either of them will make your computer but definitely get an internal memory card if you never want to unplug it.

Your question is confusing because of the terminology. But, generally, adding more RAM to your computer will make it somewhat faster. Don't expect great gains if all you do is type emails, but some applications will run faster.
I guess I need to know what your definition of "internal memory card" and "memory stick" are to be sure we are on the same page. In any case, I am not aware of any PCs where you have a choice of memory upgrade options. Your computer will accept only one type of memory stick, so I am at a loss as to why your question alludes to choices.

Memory sticks are like mini hard drives (not technically but in what they're used for). They won't speed up your computer.
A memory card might. It will speed it up if AND ONLY IF you regularly run out of memory. When this happens the computer stores some of the memory data on the hard disk which is super slow in comparison to RAM (memory). So if this happens a lot, adding more memory will speed it up, otherwise the only change will be the size of your wallet.

Are you talking about improving your RAM? If so, go online to www.crucial.com for a rundown of your particular setup and recommendations about adding RAM (which comes on small "chips" you plug inside the machine). That will almost certainly improve your speed.
