it's not completly auto but the Honda 250ex with the sport clutch. you can ride it like a manual or a semi auto foot **** without clutch. This unit is great because you can still do wheelies and play like a manual but not worry about ever stalling the atv.

Check out the smaller Polaris models. They are good machines, and great on the trail. You can find a good used Trail Boss 250 (the two stroke injected model) for under a grand sometimes, and not much over that usually.I weigh 200 pounds, and have never had a problem with the TB except that I replaced the belt once.I added a stall converter to it just because I work at a shop and picked it up cheap, same with the aftermarket exhaust.I have taken it up hills that were really bad,and never had a problem. It has plenty of low end.You will hear people say that they are weak, all I say is go ride one,it will convince ya.They dont make a 2 stroke trail boss anymore, but the new Trail Blazer is the same machine. You can check out the reviews for the bike at the link.

Look at the Bombardier (Can-Am) models. The have a 250 sporty one (DS250) and a utility type one (Rally). I owned a 2003 Rally. Only problem was the brakes sucked and I did not like how the intake manifold was routed. I think the have improved both the brake and intake setup.

As the previous poster pointed out the Hondas are great if you are willing to go for semi-auto.
