I notice when I was in Newton( a rich suburb), Dedham(rich suburb) and Wellesly( rich suburb). I seen a lot of whites wearing sandals in light rain. They wore flip-flops in drizzling rain
IS IT A RICH KID THING OR A RACE THING?

That's actually what flip-flops are for. A lot of people will wear them to shower in a gym after working out so they don't catch athlete's foot. I'm guessing the people you've seen are doing the same.

I wear zori (the Japanese ones with the perfectly rounded toe and fabric strap called a hanao) instead. But I'm Cherokee, so I don't think it's a race thing, rather a foot thing. Don't want to get my shoes all icky and wet.

OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh youre sterotyping, .................. yea its true i see alot of white people wearing flip flops in the rain, but have you not ever left the house without a jacket and it start to pour down outside, or think its gonna be cold and wear a turtle neck and its 90 degrees outiside............weather is unprediactable.....

but on the other side people who leave the house and they know its gonna rain, or they see it raining and still wear them are crazy, but not necesarily white, there just commonly white

I'm white and I would never do that. It's cold and wet!
But my Filipino friend wears flip flops rain or shine 24/7.

In the spring and summer I wear flip flops when it rains!
It's not a race thing!
It's a personal preference.
I'm black.

I've seen Chinese do this in the snow. Probably the area, I only do it during the summer when I wanna waltz around in the rain and not soak my shoes.

Also, my toes demand freedom.

Because flip flops dry faster than sneakers = less stinky foot fungi.

Probably for the same reason I see them wear them in cold weather, lilke below 50 degrees.
When asked. "Why are you wearing flip flops? Aren't your feet cold?" they all have said no, that their feet are hot.
