Look People. I need more answers in more detail. I wanna move back with my mom but she doesn't have an attorney, and she can't afford to get one. She's in a rut! my dad has full custody but she still has visitation and parental rights. What is possible?!
Ok and please only people who know what there talking about, answer this question:
I know this couple who are happily married, have two kids and are in their late 20's. They are very nice and loving and I have known them for almost a year know. They have helped me through some things and treat me like I was their own child. You see... I babysit their two little ones for them. and the kids actually think of me as their big brother. Well..... I would really wannna live with them. That's what I feel should happen because I feel really strong that I would be happy over there. How if any legal way possible can I go to live with those people?!! I would very much appreciate it guys! I really like these people and it is a dream for me.

I talked to them about it seriously, and they said that they would take me in with no question or problem. They would like to have me live with them

first of all how old are you? second of all is this couple willing to take you in to raise you? third of all there are many ways you can go about doing this....depending on what state you are in. There is usually a department of human resources in every state. you can go to the child advocasy attorney's office in your state and explain to them what you want to do and why. i did this when i was 15 years old and i was looking for answers just like you...i went before a judge and explained my situation and the reason i felt id be better off elsewhere and my petition was granted. they call it emancipation.... i was emancipated from my parents custody and was free to live with who i wanted. check your local goverment listing for the offices i told u about and go to this couple and see if they can help you find this information and get things rolling for you. good luck kid i wish you the best!

You don't need a lawyer for that. You can file a petition at the family or county court and tell the court at the hearing why you think you will be better living with your mom than with your dad.

In most states there are not statutory age to file a petition to the court. At age 14, I won a case all by myself and lived by myself, went to school and had minor supervision from the Department of Social Services. If I won a case to live alone, you can win a case of custody and return to your mom's house.

By the way, don't try going for the "live alone" part. I can tell you that living alone is not easy at all. I should have gone to court (like you) asking to live with my mom.
