I have an interior design degree from a fider accredited college. I am unsure which position I desire. I am interested in the actual decorating with accessories and furniture of the film set.

If you have rep theatre or even hs theatre volunteer to work with the set design crew. You'll do alot of building and painting and stuff but you'll get an idea if this is what you REALLY want.

Then apply to design school or art school or even a theatre arts program. You'll learn what you need to know about theatre or set design. Look for summer jobs which will help you get the skills you need to work in set design, either with theatre or local tv stations.

Hope that helps.

Take theater, film, and art classes in college and get involved in community theater or local film production. You will gain the necessary skills and experience and make connections that will lead you to where you want to go.
