This is a tough problem!
Welcome to Life as it happens.
Remember, people can be cruel and you need to have a little more faith in yourself, i.e. exude self-confidence.
People will always judge you and one thing is true, no one will remember this in a few days, the only person who will still be worried about it is YOU.
So why don't you just forget it, don't talk about it anymore and eventually no one else will think about it either.
Also, if you make a joke about it and make light of the situation then people will see you have no more buttons to push and will find another victim to torment.

I guess you may have learned an early life's lesson, about NOT showing your feeling in a school setting, too bad though. People jump to , too many conclusions at this age, I know. First of all,if you have not already did this; Go to your councilor's office and tell what really happened and what happened as a result, so YOU or this Teacher doesn't get in trouble. As for the rumors, well keep telling your friends over and over again that, this is what really happened and that's it. You know that all this was was brought on by someone that saw this out-burst of your, can't prove otherwise, sorry. This will blow over in time, just make sure to defend yourself when ever possible ans keep talking to your school officials, so they don't think it is your fault, you know.I bet you can't wait until you done with school, in 12+ grade. All you can do ,is live and learn from this and not do this to others yourself. And DO make your friends feel guilty so they won't do this again, if they do, you might need to reevaluate your friendship. Good luck in your ventures. This happens to everyone, you just got your over with, and no more emotional out burst in a public eye.

Well, kids don't always use common sense when it comes to dealing with their peers. Your friends should know better, and should be standing up for your innocence. They are doing you no favors by claiming "I don't know". Talk with them and make these friends understand how they have hurt you.
It would be very unprofessional, and most likely illegal for a teacher to have any sort of relationship with a student beyond the normal student-teacher doings. It might be a good idea for you to ask your guidance counselor or vice-principal to arrange a conference with the teacher, so that you three can assure each other these rumors are untrue. No doubt by now even other teachers have heard the stories. To be fair to the teacher these rumors need to be squelched before they cause him problems too.
Beyond that, don't even acknowledge the rumors and do not get caught up in gossiping about anybody else. Take the high road, speak honestly, and treat everyone with respect. Eventually these rumors will be replaced by something else, equally as stupid.

girl you gotta realize in life regardless there are always gonna be people that talk about you for no good reason, behind your back or to your face. Whoever started the rumor is probably jealous of you or is such a loser and immature that they wasted their time spreading a dumb rumor. You just have to show up to school and ignore as best as you can and soon it will be forgotten. Those kids will move on to the next thing in a week or two. This is only middle school and high school will be worse with that kind of stuff. You just have to learn to ignore it. Just be the bigger person and show confidence.

When people ask or talk about it just try to laugh and say are you serious? I'm only (however old you are) that is ridiculous. If I wanted to ask somebody out I wouldnt ask out someone thats old enough to be my dad eewww. And after a while the rumor will pass. Mean kids and bitchy girls will start talking about someone else to get attention. Then your rumor will be old news. And explain to your best friends what happened and tell them that you dont think its fair there saying they dont know what happened. THey should know you and know you didnt do something like that. Make sure they got your back. Thats what friends are for.

Here's the advice I told my little sister, who is in 8th grade:
No matter what rumor is said about you, in a week, it'll be old news and someone else will be the martyr for mass entertainment. If you want to be proactive about the rumor, the above comment about going along with it is a nice method. Sarcasm is hip, and really, the point of rumors is for the drama--- if you're not feeding the beast, it's quite pointless for it to continue. Just smile, make a comment how "Guys, Mr. Hottie Teacher is so last week. I'm now wooing Mr. Old-Fat-Smelly Teacher. He completes me."
Always remember: play it cool, girl, real cool.

I'm also in middle school and had pretty much the exact thing happen to me but it wasn't a teacher what I did was i didn't care what they said and showed up the next day with a very high self confidence look even though i didn't feel that way.Everyone kind of rethought it and asked me and I said it was a rummer because I would never ask him out.

I think you should get some new friends i don't think you can trust the friends that you have at the moment if they still are your friends. But overwise don't worry about what other people are saying about you just as long as your friends believe you and are there to back you up. Then people may just forget about it but always stand by your point if you know you are right.

if you try to fix the problem by telling everyone the truth, they will only see it as a cover up, or that you are lying. You cant stop people from talking. They are small minded people. You must simply hold your head high. You can however tell people the truth when they ask you!

The best thing you can do about rumors is to just ignore them. As long as they know it is bothering you, people will continue to talk about it. Once it's no longer fun, they will move onto something else and forget all about it. Just give it some time :)
