The old Mac games are dual platform and typically say Macintosh/Windows 95 or even Windows 3.1. I can't get a read on what, if any, level of Macintosh these are.

The Mac we have does read the disc, shows the game icon, but with a NO symbol over icon, and clicking on .exe will produce the message 'this application is not supported.' It will then ask me to choose an application, but I can't see any in the list they provide that would work to let the games run.

We're very happy with this gift of a Mac from mom, and we'd like to be able to keep playing some of our old games. Thanks so much for your time and ideas.

I can't find a way to bring up Classic. The Apple Menu doesn't say "classic." Is this because it's an Intel?

I desire computers over laptops till I plan on doing countless transferring round, so i imagine you'd be better off with a operating laptop or computer and use a flashchronic to save and move information. An self sufficient mouse and keyboard is a ought to at the same time as taking section in video games, so basically get a keyboard and mouse in case you want the computer. i'm 80% effectual that each and each and every cutting-edge Mac has iLife (iTunes, iChat, iMovie, iPhoto, etc.) yet they are surely not the perfect image/video editors. i propose storage band or this different software you could purchase on your Mac yet regrettably I forgot the call. have not tried photoshop on a Mac nor do i understand if it is nicely matched so if not then Gimp and Blender are solid concepts. do not, I repeat, do not get a operating laptop or computer in the journey that your relatives is open to apply it. in case you get it such as your own money then use purely your account and a concentrated visitor account and be sure your password look after is on. in case you want something sparkling and uncomplicated to maintain, flow with the iMac (show is as a lot as you. once you may be gazing videos to boot and video modifying obviously you would possibly want to favor to flow with the 24" yet in case you want to diminish decrease back a touch then flow with the 20"). uncomplicated yet stylish- Mac Mini (calls for each little thing else you would possibly want to favor that would upload as a lot as round $a million,800) I really have the 15" MacBook professional and for some reason my internet connection is somewhat sluggish yet for others it is high-quality so i'm not particular if it really is something you'll favor to stay far flung from or if it is basically me.

The newer macs don't support classic. If you really want to play those games you could get Parallels desktop for mac, install windows, and play the win95 version of the games.

There is a third party emulator that will allow your intel Mac to run OS 9.0.4. You will need OS 9.0 CD though and Apple doesn't support it.
