Runescape is not that good

Runescape is free and i am pretty sure World of Warcraft is a pay monthly game, so that will have a big influence.
Though i highly doubt people like runescape more and WoW. I suppose considering runescape has been out longer too might be a big factor. WoW is certianly the better game overall.
It is definitely a money issue

More people like RuneScape because people do not have to pay to continue playing. World of Warcraft needs payment after 10 days. Even when paying, RuneScape is roughly 2-3 times cheaper. However, it is generally agreed that World of Warcraft has better gameplay and graphics. If they were similarly priced, many would flock to WoW

Well, mainly because runescape is free and WoW costs 15$ per month to play. Runescape has a cheap membership of only 5$.
Gameplay in runescape is much easier than WoW. There is less strategy required.
Runescape is easy to access because you can just go to the website to play. Warcraft requires you buying the game, then paying membership with additional requirements on your computer.
where did you hear that runescape is more popuplar than WoW?

People it's free, easily accesible, and does not require any kind of good computer to run it. Also WoW is a hardcore MMORPG where you need to put tons of time, while Runescape isn't as developed as a game so people don't want to put as much time in.
World of Warcraft is by far the better game, though... it's like comparing a N64 game to a next-gen game.

runescape is fun, i used to play it, but i have never played world of warcraft. plus runescape is like its own little world, and its fun.

its free, it has more realism ie. wood cutting to make a fire to cook something, mainly because its free and lots of children that don't let them buy games can play it.
