Definitely WAIT for payment first.

Most fraud eBay transactions will ask sellers to ship the item to nigeria or ask buyers to send payment to nigeria by wire transfer. Then the fraud buyer/seller will send a fake eBay/paypal email saying that they have paid already, or that eBay has their item already etc..

Anyway, once a member won your item, check with eBay what is their shipping address. I guarantee you that their shipping address is not in Nigeria. Your responsibility is to just send it to their shipping address. Then it will be up to them if they want to ship it to nigeria.

Im an ebay seller, and the general rule is to wait for the payment, then ship it. If you ship it before waiting for payment there is no guarantees you will ever get paid.

The reason many people on ebay dont ship to Nigeria is because Nigeria is home to many ebay scammers, people pretending to be reputable buyers etc, asking you to ship before payment for like an important event such as a fake wedding.

You always wait for payment first. If you ship it first you risk the chance that they might not pay you at all for the item. Also the buyer in almost all cases pays for the shipping so you shouldn't ship it until they pay you to. I think many EBay users don't ship to Nigeria because there are alot of scams in that country that try to trick you out of your money or item.

You want to wait for payment, if not you may have your item stolen. That is if you except personal checks the buyer will stop payment, and or you will ship it and the buyer does not pay you.
Some places sellers will not ship to for customs are difficult and or there is high rate of theft reports from that country.
I also advice you to keep track of all ebay fee's and eBay's activity. They say we owe them money, which we have filled a claim with our bank for ebay has there money and will not credit our account.
So ebay is not the best at keeping track of the moneys paid to them.
Just keep track of all moneys coming and going. Ebay has been known to over charge on fee's, double charge selling fee's etc. We are going through this now with ebay.
Good luck and remember if you are going to sell over there just make sure you are making money at it. Power selling program is not all they make it out to be. This program does not give sellers what ebay advertises they get. Keep up with all of ebay price hikes. They do raise prices quite often.

I advice not to go onto the ebay boards asking what is selling best on ebay, or where to find wholesale companies. These are million dollar questions and other experienced sellers look down on people for this kind of behavior.

Get your payment first!! It's very important to wait for it. If you don't the person can get the item and never pay! I've had it happen. And where people ship is completely up to the seller. I ship to the US only, mainly because it is easier for me.

You of course should wait for payment. If they pay by paypal you will know instantly. If they send you a m/o or check wait until the bank clears it fully. M/o's and checks are very high fraud nowadays.
The reason no one ships to Nigeria is that it is a very high fraud zone as is Romania.

Wait for payment first.

Nigeria is the land of scams - and so most sellers assume that any buyer from Nigeria is some sort of scam.
