You probably can but its not recommended..When your breast milk comes in your boobs get really really sore and engorged with milk...they will get very swollen and large like u just had a boob job at first..The nipple ring will only make things worse as well as stimulating the milk to leak when there is no feeding time. Also for the baby to latch on it will probably be uncomfortable for the baby.

Definitely take it out, the baby will not be able to suck properly and it could reduce the amount of milk coming through the nipple

I don't think your baby could latch on or suck properly with the bar in, so take it out once your baby's born. While you're pregnant it's fine so long as it's not uncomfortable. The piercing hole itself should make no difference to feeding.

I'm going to assume that you are intelligent enough realize that you have to take out any piercings to actually feed your child. So, having said that I'll take a different approach to your question. When your milk comes in on the 3rd or 4th day after birth I recommend seeing a lactation consultant (there should be one on staff at the hospital) to see if you actually can nurse from that breast. They will be able to examine you to see if any scar tissue has blocked the flow of milk. I also would say talk to your doc about it - they might be able to tell earlier but I'm betting that you'll have to wait till the milk comes in to see the flow. Good luck and take care.

Out ! For no other reason than when your baby sucks on your nipple its tongue is like a rasp! Nipples can become sore and your piercing could become a site for infection. If the bar came out in babes mouth who knows the consequences! Take it out when you have your babe and have it redone if necessary later on.
Good Luck ----Look after those nipples! Luv J x

You're going to disrupt the flow of the milk, not to mention that the baby's mouth will not go around it. I am sure (at least hoping) you asked this as a fecitious question.

I would take it out mainly because your nipples darken and enlarge with the breast and |I wouldnt recommend it in whilst feeding little one so its better to take it out as soon as you find out, plus it will be tender when th are growing and it will feel unbearable

I wouldn't suggest it for many reasons that i am sure your doctor can explain.
As for your question, the first thing that comes to mind is infection for not only you but the baby too.
I would be worried that the nipple bar might "slip" off and cause your infant to choke.
I wouldn't suggest doing this. Too many risk factors!

nope,
the babies tongue creates a vaccuum around the nipple because of its shape, the piercing would distort that shape and making a vaccuum would be very hard.
