Since most Americans hold the liberal position on most issues, e.g. the environment, civil rights, the war in Iraq, women's rights, abortion rights, etc., is it anti-American to bash liberals?

What do you mean by "bash"?? I AM a liberal, and proud of that fact. If anyone has something to say about that which is at least partly connected to reality and the fact based world, "bring it on". In return, I would like ALL Americans to support my First Amendment right to say "Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!" and still remain on the outside of Gitmo.

Well, number one...I don't think you're right that "most Americans" hold the liberal position. I think it's probably split straight down the middle or darn close...if there is a difference, I think the conservative position would outnumber the liberal. It just SEEMS like there are more liberals because they make more of a fuss:-)
Anyway, THAT is what America is all about. This is a country where it's okay to disagree. We have all sorts of different opinions and that is perfectly fine. We are LUCKY to have a choice. In countries like Iraq that are (were) ruled by dictators, the people don't have that choice. They cannot speak out against their leader, etc. Appreciate your Freedom...
Either way, I don't think that ANYBODY should bash ANYBODY. It's playing dirty; underhanded; childish. Conservatives and Liberals and others should be able to discuss these issues in an adult manner without resorting to name-calling. I won't say which side I think is more guilty of this...

No! Most Americans do NOT hold liberal positions. As such the Majority, loosing their guard occasionally, they get complacent and the vile radical louder voice of the folly that is the American left sneaks into power.
Once the people realize they have been lied to again by the left...

First of all, I thought that being Free was American. Therefore, doing anything you want is American. So, wanting clean energy, not hurting the Earth, not hurting fellow humans, questioning the Authority or the Authoritive figures that are against everything you believe, or questioning/being against an administration that believes they do not have to abide by the constitution. I do not understand why you are asking if you can bash liberals. Especially with a name that includes peace and love. These are not beliefs or feelings held by conservatives.
