I bought a new Craftsman PROFFESIONAL router and one day it quit. It was only the second project it had been used on and all of a sudden it died. I did not smell any burning so I am pretty sure the motor is fine. I took it apart and every thing seems to be okay. I am wondering if the problem lies with the circiut board, but I do not know how to check it out.

Take it back to Sears. Their Craftsman tools are guaranteed for life. They should replace your router at no charge. Attempting to fix it yourself may void the warranty.

I'd take it to Sears with the reciept and get a new one. It shouldn't have died that fast.
