The bonding between the strands would be unstable since they are intricately constructed in a double helix, it would be hard to construct a triple helix. This would make it very unstable. You would have to try to add more base pairs just to try to stick it together. Imagine if you had a DNA double helix with more base pairs that code for being able to drink beer like they do in Beerfest. I'd sign up for that.

We wouldn't be anything. A triple DNA helix model was proposed against the double helix model, but further study showed that triple helix DNA is very unstable.

Life would be normal, since if everyone had a triple helix DNA, there would be nothing out of the ordinary.

Interestingly enough, Watson and Crick originally thought the DNA molecule was a triple helix. It wasn't until they "took" Rosalind Franklin's work that they realized it was indeed a double helix.

More complex. We have a double helix because of the method of protein synthesis; DNA unzips and one of either side is read and eventually creates a protein. If there were three sides, then the number of proteins one section of DNA could produce would be much greater.

you watch too much sciences fiction..
it will never happen..if you look at the structure of DNA,you will know....that's no way a third one can squeen in...the double helix is link together by the weak hydrogen bonds...hydrogen bonds are weak bonds which form between atoms with fluorine, oxygen and nitrogen....that's no third party to form another hydrogen bond in DNA...
but there are DNA coiled at different angle like the A-DNA,B-DNA and Z-DNA which can be found in nature....
