depend on how much music. if in the 1000s buy a 80 GB ipod video. if in the 100s buy a 8 GB nano. if a two hundred or less but a shuffle. the price range is from $75-250 depending on the GB size. the best place to get songs are from itunes which is free. but you can also use any other subsripction services you already have (Napster,Yahoo! Music). if youy want a cheaper mP3 player try the Creative line. they are very similar to the ipods and are more reliable.

If you want the new iPod mini it is about 200 dollars and will hold about 1,000-1,500 songs. It comes in 4GB and 6GB. GB= Gigabyte.
They are sturdy and durable. If you want more songs than that there is a 20GB a 30GB a 70GB. It depends on how much music you want. The older models don't have video. But you can buy a video iPod and not put videos on it.
When you buy an iPod it comes with a CD to install iTunes, which you need, and it will give you access to the store from which you can purchase music legally. Or just use Limewire for free.
Good Luck!!

It all depends if you want a music player that will be mac compatible. If you own a mac and ever plan to own a mac while you own your Ipod, get an Ipod. If your always gonna be a PC man, I say go for a Zune or a Toshiba Gigabeat. These are not mac compatible, but really good players. Although I think Zune plays video, but it's based on Toshiba Gigabeat, also Creative makes a great player aswell. Also, when buying an Ipod, keep in mind the battery will probably die after a year and you'll hafta send it to Apple to get replaced.

Hey, if you want a really great MP3 player...
Get the Creative ZEN Vision M.
You can play MP3, WMA, and WAV files.
and the video files it can play are DivX™ 4 & 55, XviD5, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG4-SP, WMV9, Motion-JPEG.
It has a 30GB, and a 60GB harddrives and a good selection of colors.
Now everybody can play at least one of these formats... I hope.
This will cost about $249.00 and above. (There are some great discounts on this product also)

I have a iPod nano, and I hate it! It has a slick design and great funktions and accesories, but there ar no reeset buton, and no batteries to remove. So when it freezes, there is nothing to do but wait uintil the batteries are empty. Maby this is just my iPod, if it wasent for this fault, it would be GREAT!
