She was at my childhood home walking toward her '77 Thunderbird car. She sat there and ate a couple of bites of a piece of angel food cake. I got mad at her and bit her in the leg, but then she hugged me and said, "Diane, Jesus came to save the world." Then I woke up.

She died in November 2005 at age 54 from complications of morbid obesity. She started watching Joyce Meyer shows shortly before her death (she never would have watched any kind of religious show before).

It has to do with your subconcious thoughts about her and with the fact that you have "issues" to process as a result of losing her (all loss of a close loved one creates "issue" of one time or another; I'm not saying your "issues" are more than the usual ones).

Since she hasn't been gone all that long, and since over the months and years that follow a death people's "issues" tend to surface in dreams; this dream was part of your mind's processing what needs to be processed. It sounds like you have anger that she couldn't/didn't stop eating or lose eight. Maybe the biting was your minds way of adding in yet another "mouth" issue in addition to the cake.

You're aware that she was watching the religious show, and maybe your mind is trying to establish for itself what your mother may have been thinking about her death. Your mind may have put the car in because you associate that with her being transported somewhere. It could be, if she was not able to get out in the end, your association with a car and freedom for her (either physical freedom or freedom from pain now that she is not here).

In your mind you may know she was at piece with religious thoughts, and your mind may be telling you she is at peace now.

The cake could have also been your mind's way of seeing her doing something normal and enjoyable for her and/or it could have been your mind's way of showing her as apparently happy and oblivious with the food while you were so upset or worried.

The angel food cake could have just been an association with "heaven" - unless it was one of her favorite foods.

If he legs had problems and pain its possible your mind presented leg pain in some way other than the way it really occurred - either for some subconcious reason or because dreams can mix up things.

Try to think of the feelings that were going on while each aspect of the dream occurred. That can lead you to what it is in real life that may still need to be worked out by your mind.

I have found that "issues" addressed in dreams seem to come in layers, with the most obvious issues being addressed first; and then the next-obvious-down, etc. until the final dreams you have after a death can be really difficult to decipher. Those are the dreams that deal with the way-down-deep issues you may not even be aware of until you have the dream and figure it out.

You have a guardian angel. She wants to tell you not to worry and that she is there for a reason. BUT this is what your dream might mean:

CAR=To see a parked car in your dream, suggests that you need to turn your efforts and energies elsewhere. You may be needlessly spending your energy in a fruitless endeavor. Alternatively, a parked car my symbolize your need to stop and enjoy life. To dream that you cannot find where you parked your car, suggests that you do not know where you want to go in life.

CAKE=To see a cake in your dream, indicates that you need to learn to share and allocate your workload instead of trying to do everything yourself. Cakes also symbolize selfishness or the feeling of not getting your fair share. More positively, the dream may represent your accomplishments and achievements. Consider also the metaphor a "piece of cake" or some situation that is easy.

MOTHER=To see your mother in your dream, represents the nurturing aspect of your own character. Mothers offer shelter, comfort, life, guidance and protection. Some people may have problems freeing themselves from their mothers and are thus seeking their own individuality and development.

To dream that you are having a conversation with your mother, denotes a matter that has preoccupied your mind and you are not sure how to deal with it in your waking life. It indicates unresolved problems that still need to be worked out with your mother.

To hear your mother call you in our dream, signifies that you have been negligent in your duties and responsibilities. You are pursuing down the wrong path.

BITING =To dream of biting someone in your dream, signifies the pressure you are putting on some people causing them great distress. You may have unexpressed, perhaps even childish, feelings of anger or resentment that need to be recognized. This dream is a message for you to lighten up and alleviate the stress that you are putting on others.

HUG=To dream that you are hugging someone, symbolizes your loving and caring nature. You are holding someone or something close to your heart. Alternatively, it may indicate your need to be more affectionate.

THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT

Sometimes when my mother shows up in my dreams, she usually represents the characteristics of her personality that I share. When I am being very self-critical in waking life, she's generally chewing me out in my dreams.

You might look at something like that in regard to your dream. What in your own personality in waking life is mimicking something from your mom's?

Just a thought, and may or may not be relevant to your dream.
