Yes, I work with a nurse who i actually just asked this question and she says once you bleed you can get pregnant...it's when you do not have a cycle then you cannot aor may have problems..besides the eggs are being held...

It is very unlikely to get pregnant while on your period. As long as you have a normal cycle and you are sure it is a period. It does happen though.
