The white guys you encounter fall into three basic categories on this issue:
1. White guys who are not attracted to African American girls, possibly because of their upbringing or just their own taste
2. White guys who never thought about dating black girls -- they just date individuals to whom they are attracted (in my experience, these are the best to date)
3. White guys who are 100% into black girls.
Forget category #1. They sometimes "date" black girls but are typically mean and overtly or covertly racist when they do. For category #3, if they are "feelin' you" you'll know it. Do the same thing you would do with a brother.
For category #2, however, if you like a guy who seems to be like this, and you **really, really** want to go out with him, you need to finesse the situation a bit. For instance, when you get that "look," look back and smile. Engage in pleasant conversations that are about whatever class you're taking, etc. Compliment him on what he's wearing, etc. In other words, he'll need to be sure he's getting the signals he thinks he's getting!!! If he takes too long with this, move on because hey, he has to step it up and take a risk, after all! However, his main issue is intimidation and fear -- once he gets over that, he could actually make a decent type of boyfriend because he's dating YOU, not your "race."
Generally speaking, if a sister decides to date a white fellow, there are usually more than enough suitors out there! Just check out their motivation. If this is too much at your age, just wait a few years and it'll come clear! Focus on your studies instead :)
Good luck!

Yes but most white guys may not go out with you because you're Black (no offense) because being in an interracial relationship is difficult with all the people saying it's wrong, all the stares and when you're young, it's hard as well because you have pressure from family and friends and the guy may feel uncomfortable approaching you with all the negative stereotypes of Black women going around.

I think it has to do more with societys perception. Typically it is a white girl with a black guy and that has somehow become the norm. More or less those boys probably don't know if its ok or not. Fact is in our society more emphasis is placed on the male then on the female. Meaning that we judge what the men do more so then we judge what the women do.
When I was in high school I sort of became the outcast as I did date a black girl. It amazes me now that I look back at how our friends and family caused us to break up.
Just a thought here since they are probably unsure of what to do, you could always make the first move. Yeah its scary cause you may get turned down. But take it slow and let nature take its course. They just may not know how to act.

Pardon me I'm 63 years old. And I must tell you I have always been partial to dark skin. I was once married to a black women. I believe they are just afraid of rejection, because so many blacks don't like white guys. Probably if you are friendly and do a little female type flirting. They will be all over you. The biggest problem comes from Black women thinking that if a guy is staring at them he must be a bigot. That is not true at all.

i'm a tremendously Jamaican woman and that i'm getting this each and all the time! My boyfriend is German and black adult males stare and glare each and all the time, because of the fact they are offended. They sense as though they very own us and those 'different' adult males are entering into their territory. they're a similar ones with white ladies on their palms, which purely is going to coach you the way stupid they are. LOL. yet we like the attention and the detest and the insecurities we get from them.

One of my exes (white) told me he liked black girls/women. Have you thought about talking to any of the guys you see looking at you? They probably are just shy or self-conscious. Remember, you're smart. Maybe they're afraid they'll say something dumb if they speak first? (I wish I would have approached more of the guys I liked when I was in high school.) Can't hurt being friendly, right? If you pick up a good vibe in return, you can always ask the guy out. Good luck.

Maybe you're the first Black girl they ever met - they might be used to seeing White girls and you look different than the type of girl they usually go after. And they might be afraid to approach you because they don't know if Black girls will date White boys. And they might just be typical teenage boys - secretly terrified of ALL girls - they might be just as scared to talk to a White girl as they are to talk to you!

At 16, guys just like girls, period. The color thing is really not a part of the picture unless you are considered somehow "uncool" because you are black. In this day and age, in most places in this country, I doubt that's true (please Lord, let that be correct).
At 16, though, all guys are pretty much dorks. Find one you think is cute and make the first move. Once you've managed to break the ice with one, the rest shouldn't be a problem.

Hahaha...reminds me of my youthful days. Just talk a little more. I never did that because I was shy. If your shy as well, you might be lucky if 2 or 3 guys take a leap of confidence; in all your years of schooling. They like you, but someone has to make the first move otherwise it'll never happen and you won't know anyone until college. Not talking about sex.....just chatting.

yes, but it all depends. every man speaks for himself. some white guys like black women and then there are some who dont. like every man has a preferance. I think in general if you are a beautiful woman then its most likely that you will be approached by all types of men.
