What's not so well known is that solar panels don't last forever. After 7 or 8 years, their output can be as little as HALF of what it was when installed. Therefore it is worth paying top whack for good quality panels.

This is all I know about them, but do your sums carefully because most times the cost outweighs the benefits.

The first thing to decide is are you planning on fitting Photo Voltaic solar panels (ones that generate electricity) or water heating panels? The latter have a lower initial cost and faster pay back.

Once you've decided which your interested, try and formulate a more specific question and someone might be able to help.

http://www.oynot.com and read. You will have lot better idea of what you are wanting to know or may have enough info.

There are:
Solar Electric panels
Solar space heating panels
Solar water heating panels

What type and what to you mean by fitting? Size to fit on the roof in inches or maybe size of voltage they put out. Or how much water can they heat to fit your needs and on and on and on.

The question is too wide open to answer.
