I have found 500 cash in the parking lot where I worked. It was early morning and it was a small town I knew everyone that was at the store already. There were only maybe 3 by this time. And one was still on the property washing his truck. I approached him and asked if he had lost anything. He started to check his pockets frantically and said he lost his money. I asked him to explain in detail how much, in what kind of bills and the way he placed it in his pocket. He explained to me the exact amount the way it was folded (into 4) and they were new bills, and which bill denominations they were. It was exactly what I found. I gave it back. I have handed money in to police before as well. It is not mine. I think that the person has worked hard for their money and it should go back to them.

If I found a wallet with a large amount of money, no name, no identification, no way of finding who it belongs to, I'd shout to the heavens. But if I could I'd try to find out who's it was and turn in in to them. And only them. Iwould think how I would feel if I had lost it. I try to think of others , I know It's hard but I wouldn't keep it if I could find out who's it was. Would you be glad if it was your's and someone gave it back to you. I would give them a reword from the large amount of money..

I would probably look around where the wallet fell, maybe the person is still around and ask if its theirs. If there's no person claiming it, I would keep it. HA!

return it to the right owner if ID is found in it. Hand it in to the authorities. Maybe just maybe your good turn will be rewarded elsewhere-ever thought about it that way!

Turn it in -- I'd feel too badly if I kept it and it would bother me forever
