Check with your local TV station to see if they take volunteers.
Also, consider a local Boys and Girls club. Tutors are always needed.
My neice did a program through the Red Cross. Have you checked with that organization?

This is pretty much the same answer as the ones before me but a touch different. I had to do community service last summer by calling Bingo at a retirement home. At first I really didn't think I'd like it but as the weeks went on they would be so excited to see me and they would tell me stories about what has happened in your life. It's amazing hearing about something that happened almost 100 years ago from someone who experienced it first hand. Even if you do your community service by sitting and talking with them you will take so much away from it than just community service.

In our area, they are always looking for people to deliver meals during the day - Meals on Wheels. Since a lot of people work during the day, this might be a perfect spot for you. Also, our community likes people to volunteer to go grocery shopping for people, taking the elderly or people who don't drive to doctor appointments, etc. Contacting a local church or senior center can get you on your way - 25 hours will fly by and you might find you will want to continue.

Volunteer at a soup kitchen for homeless people, you will be surprised at how many children will show up. They usually have no supplies for school, pencils, paper, books, find out how you can help get them obtain some supplies. go to local merchants and ask for donations for the supplies. you will not only get a good grade in community service, you will help change some childs life.

you can volunteer at a homeless shelter, hospital, old folks home, a teacher, a pound.... a preschool sometimes- check with your school on that one.
oh or a church or synogog or other religious place of worship (depending on your religion) I got 22 for helping with a christmas camp.... and they will probably be offering something for the young kids during spring break.

Are you in NHS by any chance? Anyway, try volunteering at a community center. They always need help.

volunteer at your local old folks home.
they would probably have you do an activity with the old people, read to them or just talk to some of them.
the old folks would love to have you there.

Have you tried your local public library? They often need help with reshelving books, dusting, etc.
