You answer the door and she say's she is your daughter from a an affair way back. How do you tell your wife?

Try to find out the details of how this child came to be, and what her intentions are... then, you have to be honest. If it happened before you were married, then accidents happen. If it happened while you were married, i hope you have a good attorney because your wife is going to rake you over the coals!

Ok first did you have an affiar? If you did this is something you should have clean with years ago. Now it is there haunting you. She could be could be the real deal.
If you want to know if she is the real deal before coming clean with your wife, I would suggest getting on line and looking up DNA testing. There is a company that can do it through the mail for under $200.00.
If this affiar is from long ago and no one knows now is not the time to come clean about a child until you know she is your child. After your prove yes or no I would come clean with my wife either way. This will also help to prevent you from having to come to yahoo for answers for something you should not need answers for.

WOW thats a very hard one...but I think that the only thing you can do is be straight up about it because if the girl knocked on your door, she probably isnt going to go away and make things nice and neat for you. So I would sit the wife down and tell her everything.

Start by being honest.
Telling your wife you had an affair will never be good but you have a daughter who has a right to know you and ask her forgiveness.

First I would want proof that she is whom she says she is. "DNA" If she is then I would just tell her when it happened if the girl came about before we were married then there should be no problem. If it happened after we were married then I would have to come clean and tell her. I could not beat around the bush I would just have to set her down and tell her and hope we could work it out. The daughter if she wanted me in her life I would have to work on that too!!

Do the one-two-three, then hug her, tell her she looks just like your wife who happens to be her age. Also, give her an apron and order her to clean the bathrooms. Once she is finished, tell her to take Fido out for a walk and never come back.
