I raised and showed Guinea Pigs for two years...we also ran a rescue operation...On average an adult female guinea pig will give birth to 2-4 babies...I've never experienced a female guinea pig dying during birth and I've been around hundreds of them. I had my first 2 guinea pigs for around five years before I had to get rid of my whole lot...And no I didn't get rid of them because I wanted to I had to because my mother passed away...
But baby guinea pigs are adorable, and I've even kept the males in with the babies after the female has had them...I've never experienced a male being aggressive towards their babies.
But, just make sure if this is what you really want to do that you have homes available for the babies if you can not keep them. Remember that just because they are small they are still difficult to raise in large quanities...hope I helped you out some. :)

No. Guinea pigs are very overpopulated in this country, and there are thousands across the country looking for homes. Not to mention there's a 1 in 5 chance that the female will die during birth and pregnancy.

How does a guinea pig look older? LOL
I would say NO..do not do it unless you want a whole bunch of babies to care for and find homes for. If you cannot guarantee they will be adopted or a pet store will take them, I do not suggest getting a girl.

the people telling you to go through with your idea are idiots! if you are planning on having them have kids, you better think again. do you know just how many animals are homeless, because someone thought it would be cute to have babies! do you have any idea how many innocent animals are euthanized every day, for lack of homes. unless you have a good home for every possible pig, DON'T put them in the same cage. or, you can get your guinea pig neutered, although im not familiar with the procedure.

If you want more Guinea Pigs than sure. But you can also see if the SPCA has some up for adoption, I have gotten two from there and they are fixed so there will be no babies.

If you want lots of little guinea pigs! They do breed rapidly.
Some pigs like company, others want to be "only pigs."
