Sexism against men. Examples:
-More TV shows are female lead characters who are smart, efficient, and always right, while the men are shown as morons and always wrong.
-In clothing stores, ads portray men as feminine looking, visually making the statements that masculinity is out, and femininity is in. Also making the visual statement that this is what women want in men today.
-TV shows show men as insensitive, unemotional, uncooperative, non-communicative, etc, while it shows woman as positive role models.
-Black shows have it's own problems. It shows strong black men as dark skinned, very tall, aggressive. The weak men are always shows as short, thin, light skinned guys, which the media is visually discriminating against short light skinned guys.
Discrimination with beauty:
-Female beauty is presented in the form of white blond women, or white women in general. Rarely is an asian or hispanic woman shown as beautiful in American media. And the black women who are, look more white than most black women.

well, first of all, not all of the media is misguiding the youth. there are just several instances when it does....
the media is a powerful tool for communication and understanding. however, when misused, it could send out the wrong kind of message to people, thus having unpleasant effects. by transmitting information that is inappropriate to youthful minds, it may end up corrupting innocent minds by misleading them into accepting ideas and the like that can be considered unacceptable. the media holds great influence on the minds of numerous, and if it is used to present ideas deceptively, it can manipulate numerous to false pretenses.
