...I know - daft question, but remember the Coronation Street debacle some time ago when Anna Kirkbride (Deirdre) was jailed for summat, and The Home Secretary involved Prime Minister Tony Blair, who, attempted to intervene on 'The Weatherfield One's behalf.
In order to warm the hearts of Brits (three quarters of the population, methinks) who he doesn't have a great deal of time for now, how about him throwing populist support towards the Shameless 'Gorton Zwei'.
Anyone from the US who might want to answer this wee question, I'm sure one of us Brits might explain the - er - importance to you!

Pure class, Arizona? You betya! Ken & Veronica tried to bring a wee baby back from continental Europe (they couldn't have bairns)...they put money down for it - borrowed from neighbours, but was nabbed, but the chap with Tourettes - damn...what's his name - managed to get it across the Channel. But Kevin and Veronica are in clinky.

Never mind, St. Helens...neither did I until last week, and during the week, saw past episodes with friends! Some people say the current episodes are not as shining as the first ones - tell you what, if Shameless is indeed operating on half steam, it's making a great load of what's on telly now almost embarrasing.

ha ha good question. No probably not, since our Dear Leader these days likes to hob nob with celebrities and stay in their houses like Robin Gobbs', so I don't think he would do anything to help Kev & V'ron as the thought of a stay on the council estate doesn't suit his holiday plans.
By the way, Shameless is one of the best things on the box these days!

Not seen this series as I live in the USA, but I loved the series I saw before I came out here. I have a multi regional DVD player so I imported Series 1-3 along with the specials over from the UK. Worth every penny.
Love Kev and Veronica and I hope they are freed from whatever they have done.
I used to live in the Manchester area and the characters are so real to people I saw when growing up. Shameless is pure class.

Looool! Shameless isn't the same without them, but do they have as many viewers as Corrie? I dunno. And I doubt Mr. Blair would do anything about it because the characters on the show are the characters he's trying to rid the UK of lol.
