Someone once said to me you have to love yourself and accept yourself before you can love another person and let yourself go. I was just curious as to other's beliefs/thoughts on this.

Yes because in order to love yourself you must know and trust yourself... therefore you are able to trust your instincts of love and you can trust the other person.

its true. its a level of maturity, you have to satisfy yourself first in order to love somebody

I don't think you can truly love other people if you don't love yourself.
If you don't love yourself you are judging people by your own feelings,
"Love thy neighbor as thyself." You cannot love your neighbor if you don't love yourself.

yes, you have to love yourself, it's the easiest thing to do, if you can't do that - then you are incapable of loving
