you need rootpowder for transplanting ,Merical grow liquid mix, you also need a potting mix, of sand-loam-and compost, also need a warm area,about 75 degrees yr round,
Soak the cut branch in bucket of water and mericle grow fertilizer,untill you see the roots,then dip the roots into root powder,then place in the potting mix, which should be medium wet. good luck these trees are very difficult to transplant

when, in doubt, I always start wood in water changing the water at least once a week...if you have access to a willow tree, put a small piece or two in the water with them.....willow trees have a natural rooting hormone in them...good luck
