I have one Ralph Lauren shirt that has white and dark green vertical lines. Very good material and I took as a challenge to find a good tie for it. I'm planning on using it with a black suit (3 button jacket).

There's a rule of thumb about patterns....one pattern should stand out just a little; you could be conservative and pair the shirt with a nice solid green tie, which could be lighter or darker than the green in the shirt.....or if you want a pattern, the tie's pattern could be green/brown, or some other pattern with any green in it, etc....just make sure that when you put the two together, the tie, or the shirt's stripes, stand out a little; one should be just a LITTLE more prominent than the other!!

i agree jsut a uncomplicated black tie as yeah the hsirt already has texture.. you would possibly want to jsut not placed on a tie.... black pants and a jacket without tie will look high-quality also... solid luk
