I am looking for the best party make-up. I prefer to have 2 magic casters and 2 offensive / defensive jobs.

Red Mage is a great starting party. They can equip almost all equitment in the beginning of the game and cast black and white magic spells. Later in the game they can't equip better weapons and armor however. It's best to have two spellcasters and two fighters.
Warrior/Knight/Dragoon/onion knight/ninja-good attacking class, powerful. Two of these classes is good
Magic-Shaman (white Magic) Warlock (black magic) Sage (casts all black/white magic) Summoner (summons monsters)

My favorites for almost every FF game I have ever played are Monk and Black Mage.
