Amidst the controversy regarding the choice of naming Apple Inc.'s new technological item, which they would like to call "iPhone", I wonder what the preference would be from the consumer. Would "Apple Phone" (using the Apple logo instead of the written word), as in Apple TV, perhaps, be a better choice for a name for the new tech product just introduced by Apple Inc., and thus eliminate the threatened lawsuits? (Another company has a patent on the name "iPhone" in some countries) Is the consumer tiring of the tradition of iTunes, iCal, iPhoto, iDVD, etc.? Perhaps, now is the time for a slight deviation and a move in the direction of just saying what the item is--an Apple Phone. What do you think?

Just to make it clear, Apple has the patent for their new phone. It is the legal right to use the name "iPhone" that is causing the controversy.

Yeah, thats pretty funny, huh? Good job by Apple's lawyers on that one...lol. I personally like the name iPhone (and all of the iProgram names, they're original, and you know they're from Apple), but since Apple was stupid enough to name it that, I think the name iMobile or iCell or something would be good. You know, something original.

MAybe even something that doesn't have much to do with the fact that it's a phone. I mean think, who would connect iPod to music players if they'd never heard of it?

I'm not tired of the i-whatever trademark; I know it's an Apple brand . . .at least I thought it was until I learned that defunct co branded iPhone.

I like iCall.
