If anyone buys and uses old cell phones, does your present account be charged if they made calls?

Charges for any calls are not accounted to the cell phone you used, but to the SIM Card that was inside the telephone. those you should not sell, unless they are PrePaid, for exactly the reason you just described.

As long as the cell doesnt have the SIM card you are using right now, you have master resetted or master cleared the phone (this deletes all your personal info on the phone), and advertised what company was your carrier (compatibility with buyers service) then you should be ok . Look for the master reset option in your manual or just play around with the menu until you find it.
