provera question?

my dr just put me on 10 mg Provera for 10 days to help start my period. Just out of curiousity, i used my saliva scope and it showed ferning. had sex wed night. is it possible to become pregnant while taking these pills?

No, the provera is progesterone and when your progesterone levels are high you can't ovulate. If you were to ovulate right before or just after starting the provera and the egg gets fertilized when you stop taking the provera the fertilized egg will be shed with your menstral flow--that is the problem with provera. Most drs. give prometrium now instead of provera.
