I've been taking early pregnancy tests since Tuesday morning, b/c my period is due today. I've been off the pill for 4 months and I'm not sure exactly how long my cycle is. My last period was extremely light on the Saturday evening and didn't really pick up until Monday. Could this effect when a positive result could turn up on a preg. test? I've felt a little nauseas and light headed during the past week,w/headaches and thought maybe we were successful. The test I took this morning read negative, is there still a chance this month? I know I'm crazy, maybe I'm subconciously created these symptoms... any advice would be welcomed!

You are not crazy, you just really want to get pregnant, but you have been on the pill, so your hormonal balance was altered by that.Your body will definitely need a few months to get back to normal.
You have only been trying for a month I know you would like for it to happen as soon as possible, but unfortunately it may take a little bit more time. Just have a little patience
On the other hand pregnancy test do lie, and maybe it is just too early for it to detect that your are pregnant.
Hope it all goes well for you and you get pregnant really soon
All the best

It is possible that you are creating the symptoms by thinking you are pregnant. However, its possible that you are. I got pregnant 6 months after I stopped taking my birth control. I know someone who is pregnant only one month after she stopped taking the pill. Sit back, relax, give it some time. Wait for a week or two. Then take another test and see what happens. I was 3 months along before I got a positive result on a home test. I was 2 months along and had a negative blood test from the dr. Anything is possible. Everywoman is different. Only you know your body and how it is normally. Good luck!

you could easily be creating the symptoms subconciously. The only thing that can cause a positive pregnancy test result is being pregnant. You could still be pregnanct if you have had a negative result but I think the likelyhood is you are just over eager. 1 month is not very long to be trying. Just relax and try not to think about it. I know it's almost impossible to try and find something else to occupy your mind

The best thing I can tell you is to get a clear blue easy fertility monitor so you know exactly when you are obulating than you know when you should test. I bought one and it is working wonders. Now I did get pregnant and it took me 3 months with out it but I was not trying to get pregnant. This time my husband and I really want a baby so we thought we would speed up the process and buy one the first month no luck we are hopeing this month we get lucky I hope this helps. BABY DUST TO ALL!!!!!

you say you have been off the pill for four months well it takes a wee while before the pill is flushed out of your body. i wouldnt get yourself exited over it at the moment cause if your period comes you will be left rather gutted. just be patient as well it takes longer for some woman than for others. if your period doesnt come good luck

The best advice would be to wait until your at least 1 day late and then take the test.If it is still neg, take it again in a few days. Some women take longer to show on a hpt. While you are patiently waiting, why not go to twoweekwait.com and read up on all the other symptoms other women felt.
Good luck to you!

although most test will pick up on the first day of your missed period it could be that it is to early to tell. especially since you said you were sure exactly how long your cycle was. mine read earlier then then the first day. i'd wait a few days and retake if you haven't started. good luck to you. i hope it happens soon.

There might be a chance, but you need to chart the periods so you have a better understanding of when you are getting your periods each month. When you do become pregnant they can better determine when you are due.
