Do You watch the voice over versions or the Subbed version. I started with voice over and then went to sub, and now I can't watch the voice over anymore.

The voice just don't sound right anymore. Naruto, I hate the voiceovers.

Has anyone else felt this way about voice overs?

I always love the subs because you get to know some Japanese and also it is uncensored in the subtitled form compared to the horrible dubs. Enjoy.

I watch dubbed, mainly for two practical reasons.

1. I don't read, write, or understand conversational Japanese. I know a few words, but that's it.

2. Trying to watch sub-titled forces me to divide my attention between reading the text and watching the action. As a result, I either miss some of the action, or I miss some of the dialouge. There's always a chance I'll miss some important bit of action, or some important bit of dialouge.

True, the dubbed versions could be done better, but I'd still rather have dubbed rather than subbed or orginal, just from a language standpoint.

i actually prefer the Subbed versions. They have more feeling and well...just sound right. Voice overs suck !!! And even if i am lucky enough to find Anime with good Dubbing ...i still prefer to watch the subbed version after it too. So i end up watching some stuff twice. (like both versions---- it's kinda fun).

The subbed versions are way better than the dubbed, for some reason in the dubbed they always seem to make the characters voices sound really stupid or annoying.

kinda. I go either way, I like both, though it depends on the anime. For instance, for the FLCL voice-over, the voice-over director (I think) came to America for the dubbing and made sure, as best he or she could, that every American voice sounded the most possible like the original Japanese voices, and i think they did a pretty darn good job of it >_< On the other hand, however, in Tenchi Muyo it took me some time to get accustomed to Ayeka's somewhat annoying voice-over voice, and the dub voice sounds very different from the Japanese voice in my opinion. So, basically, it depends on the anime. I go either way ^_^

I prefer the subtitled versions, the voices are more lively and on the other hand I am a fan of a lot of japanese voice actors and I really like to hear them.

It depends on which one i watch 1st. Like I watched InuYasha on AdultSwim in the dubbed, so i prefer that dub. But with Fruits Basket I watched it in subbed, and Yuki had a girl voice, but in the dub his voice sounded really deeo and manly (almost like a petifile) so i prefer their subs... most of the time i prefer subs, but it really depends on the show. FMA is better in dub imo

Nope, I prefer the voice-overs... I just don't like reading the sub titles... mind you, I do like reading books... but just no on the tele...

sometimes the light blocks some of the words and you miss out on what they say! *screams*

Japanese are way more animated while speaking in anime. I always watch the anime with subtitles and listen to the japanese. I think all movies/cartoons/tv shows should be shown in their original language with subtitles. I hate dubbed movies and anime.
