How do you deal with problems at work that seems unavoidable?

Stituations where the boss misjudges you, then treats you unfairly in a way where your always worried about your job. You know you were treated terribly, but there's nothing you can do about it. Your now worried about loosing your job that you cannot afford to loose. So you ask a few employees that seem trustworthy on how to deal with it. At first they seem understanding, but then you learn that no matter how honest you are, they don't belive you cause they haven't experienced it. So then they see you as the problem as well. Now your worried about how the boss is gonna treat you, & what those employees may say to the boss about you. Even if you earn your bosses respect, the employees you spoke to in the past who may move up, may destroy that respect because of what they now think of you.

Seems like a lose/lose situation, & all you can do is stressfully wait to get fired for one big misunderstanding. It's depressing me.

You don't go from employee to employee ever. You go to your boss and ask him/her what they expect from you and tell them how you are feeling..go as an adult not a whiny baby. Do your job..stay out off the gossip circle .Go to work...work hard and go home. The less people you envolve in your job the better. People want to succeed themselves..they aren't going to care if you do or not and if you go..that's one less on the ladder they have to worry about.

Look the best way to avoid politics and end up being the winner is be a 100% focused on your job. Protect and serve the organization not the boss. If its good for the organization the do it! otherwise stay away from it all. People like to gossip and make alliances behind each others back but in fact you can benefit from it just working your way to the top by cutting out the b.s.!! Nobody can touch you not even your boss.

Document, document, document...try to get periodic meetings with your boss to discuss how he feels you are doing and ask for any suggestions.

Otherwise, just don't talk to anyone about anything important, and do the best job you can. Keep positive and don't let the other people bother you. Be true to yourself and your maker.

It never hurts to keep your resume updated and keep looking to see what opportunities are out there. Apply if you find something you like and think you are qualified for.

In the meantime, learn as much as you can from this position, even learn what others (maybe someone with a higher position) are doing and how to due it. What you learn from this job can help you in your interviews/job searches, and new jobs.

And document, document, document.

Do you job the best you know how.
Be honest and direct with people.
I don't play the politics but I find I am more sane at the end of the day than most.

For in the morning I have to look as myself in the mirror and I know I will be held accountable for what I do to G-d and He is far more important than what is going on in the next cube over.

If you are in a lose/lose situation and still have the chance to get out of it, do so. Finding a new job in a gentler environment may be the next best thing for you to do. It spells out happiness too for you. That way, you don't have to deal with all the politics. GO FOR IT !!!

Be yourself and let her know how you feel; but handle it in a professional way.

As for employees, you can never trust everybody. Just follow you instinct. If you think you're going to get fired, start investigating into more jobs before your boss drops the "bomb" on you(if her or she does).

All JOBS, Positions and Circumstances have Politics involved in the Matrix!

As a friend who is Police Officer who seems to Arrest the same persons about every six months = said, IT'S LIKE DOING DISHES, = YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THEM AGAIN - TOMORROW!

See WORK as an OPPORTUNITY TO EXCEL = IN WHAT YOU DO, = = NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE IS DOING!

ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST!

Thanks, RR

Sounds like this workplace has become toxic for you. Begin to look for another job immediately. In the meantime, try to show a cool, calm exterior to your boss and co-workers and do not confide in anyone else at this workplace. Good luck to you.

Get a tougher skin, and don't trust anyone - unless you are willing to trust them with your life, literally.

If you are expecting to fail - you will. Start looking at other jobs, and use family or friends outside the workplace as a sounding-board. And, ask yourself what you have learned from this experience, so you don't repeat it over and over.

Good luck.

Job harassment, (discriminating, creating hostile environments, verbal harssment, retaliation), are so bad in our world, they had to make Laws about it. But when you say it happened to you, you get treated like you have a mental problem.
Even Whites have a slave mentality today. "Don't say
anything, you'll just get in trouble." "They won't do anything about it anyway, so don't even try."
What Society needs is a little help maturing. Confrontation, in groups preferably, (cause one alone
has little chance), but be reasonable. People make mistakes. And the fear of getting in trouble makes them
cover-up, and harass, and retaliate, blah, blah, blah.
Like the joke goes, when the sargeant kept telling the
Colonel he wasn't to blame for a mistake. The Colonel said, "Yu don't understand sargeant. We're not saying you're to blame. We're saying you're the one we're blaming."
If your personal situation isn't really causing you a
"problem". Get past it.
