I know there's no such thing as being 100% safe, but there has to be more decent and safer areas in Spokane to live. Can anyone give me some recommendations, tips, and even let me know the areas to avoid all together. This is in regards to finding and apartment. Thanks!!

I went to Gonzaga in Spokane for four years and lived around the Logan Neighborhood..considered "Ghetto" by many students from Seattle-area...meh..maybe not as nice as Seattle..but Ghetto by no means. Spokane in general is a nice place, just not as rich as say..Seattle or Bellevue, Washington. As for safe, just don't cause trouble, and you won't get in any, ya know? But if you're still concerned...I say South Hill and Spokane Valley is where most upper middle class and higher ranges of people live and yeah tends to at least feel safer and seem cleaner. Hope this helps..

I have lived in Spokane for 40 years. I find the BEST area for the money is the North Side (around Northtown.) I curently own a hous on the Empire / Nevada area. Wellesley and Division, between Monroe and Nevada and Bridgeport to Fransis area is very nice and inexpensive. The place to avoid would be around Freya and 1st area. Or around the courthouse. If you have lots of money, Upper South side is nice. Hope this helps.
