Unique Baby Names
If you do not want to use a popular or traditional name, there are many ways to come up with your own unique name. Some techniques you can use to come up with a unique or unusual name is to use an ethnic or foreign variation of a popular name (Emilia, an Italian form of Emily), using a place name (although there are some popular ones like Dallas or Dakota), using an occupation as a name (Sailor), using a last name or surname as a first name (Kennedy), or using names from nature (Summer, River, Forest, etc).
You can also create your own name by adding a diminutive ending to a popular name (-ina,
-ette, -ita), adding a prefix before a name (Da-, La-, Ta-, etc), spelling a common name differently, or combining or blending other names.
The danger of using a unique name, especially if it is very unusual, is that while it may make your child stand out from the crowd, he may stand out too much and can lead to teasing.Choosing a unique baby name is one of the most exciting parts of your pregnancy. It is also a decision that should not be taken lightly. Remember, the names you choose will be with your children for his or her lifetime. With that in mind, we have compiled a comprehensive baby names list to be sure you consider every possibility. Feel free to try different combinations to produce cool baby names!

You know sometimes just visiting a different time helps.. try names that where popular in the past that have been forgotten about now..
Avis
Felix
Daniel
Richard
Curtis
Austin
these men's names have been forgotten!
Vivian
Linda
Elizabeth
Ingrid
Heidi
Leigh
Ginger
So have these names.. but you get the idea.. revisit the older names.. I think America wants to re invent the wheel when there are perfectly good names that people have forgotten about..
Stay away from names that start with J... I dont know why we got caught up with Joshua Jeremy Jason Julian ... You get my point.
Anyway what ever you pick.. get more than just your opinion.. when you pick a name ask people if they had that name would they like it. And dont look at it as your babies name.. because your child will be an adult longer than a baby.. make sure it is a name your child will be comfortable with for a life time. Rather than just trying to be different.. pick a name that is strong!
