It should not be the case. Soccer players are paid because of their talents and not because of their looks. If ever people hate Ribery because he's not handsome, then shame to those people. Shame on them!!!
One more thing. I think Ribery's looks have been caused by an accident. Forget it! Whatever the case people must see what he canb do for the team.
Look at Ronaldinho. Before when he wasn't that famous yet, he was a laughing stock because people say he looks like something like this and/or like that. But now, those people find themselves so so silent because right now he is definitley one of the most talented in the world and a 2-time world player of the year. Good thing Ronaldinho as a person, is good in character, or else he might have insulted so many people in press conferences who used to laugh and insult him during the start of his career.

Fashion?! What in the world does it have to do with football?! It's not like any players are models--apart from Beckham. Skills?! Ribery definitely has a ton of talent and skill---no doubt!!! Looks--not the greatest but it's not his fault his face is deformed. As for me, I think Frank Ribery is a great player!!! I like his ways!

This is one of the things about football or rather sports that drive me crazy.
I can't understand that Ribery does not get enough Media attention and even the praise and the accolades he deserve just because he doesn't look like a Becham or a Buffon. He's an excellent player and can rightly fit into the shoes of Zidane. I think he's gonna rise up to the challenges in future and lead France to World Cup glory. HE REALLY IS GONNA BE THE NEXT ZIDANE!
I just hope that people stopped judging him by his looks....and anyways he's much more talented that pretty poster buy Becks.

People think football means players who look like beckham. Ribery is a great player and has huge potential. He is surely the new Zidane.

Its definately about the player skills itself......I like Ribery, I think he is really great. If people don like him because of his look, this prove that they are just really prejudice. Look at him now, I've heard news saying that Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real are interested to buy him.....('',) Looks like he got three top club chasing after him......

the scars means nothing if we look how big is his talents ^ ^
the scars didn't disturb me at all...you didnt need to have very handsome face to be a great football player, your handsome face just will make a lot of girls screams out loud for you but sadly it didnt improve your skills ^ ^
i like Frank Ribery the way he is now...

Unfortunately, a lot has to do with looks...look at Beckham...Ribery needs to keeep playing with heart like he does and people will be converted.

I've been here a while and have seen some totally cruel and uncharitable jibes made about his appearance. He was only a child and very very lucky to even survive that accident. People that are superficial like that should feel shame at their comments about him. But look at the gift of talent he has been god given and how it has given fans so much enjoyment. Thankfully some of us appreciate that and are not so shallow.
